The heartthrob star of CRAZY RICH ASIANS, LAST CHRISTMAS, and A SIMPLE FAVOR, Henry Golding breaks out in this extraordinary dramatic role. From Hong Khaou, director of the tear-jerking gay film, LILTING, MONSOON explores memory, loss, and new beginnings with a tale that's as haunting as it is romantic.

Golding stars as Kit, a Vietnamese man raised in London since childhood, when his parents escaped their war-torn homeland. Now, he's returning for the first time to a country he doesn't recognize, a language he's forgotten, and the childhood friend who lived to tell. In his travels, he meets Lewis (Parker Sawyers, who played Barak Obama in the feature film SOUTHSIDE WITH YOU). An American entrepreneur, Lewis comes from a family impacted by the war in a very different way, and their mutual scars fuel their connection as much as their palpably mutual attraction.

A travelogue of a country where the ancient meets the modern, MONSOON boasts stunning images of vibrant street life, lush landscapes, and of course, the gay nightlife. (The fresh lotus tea sequence is a visual knockout!) Filled with provocative ideas, relatable characters, and that wonderful feeling of a budding romance, MONSOON will stay in your mind long after its final swoony moments. - Frank Danay
