Artist Kenny Scharf, who came from a quintessentially Jewish family in LA, befriended Keith Haring and Jean Michel Basquiat in the early 1980’s. Amid the fervent creative bustle in New York, the trio would change the way we think about art, the world, and ourselves. But unlike Haring and Basquiat, who both died young, Kenny lived through cataclysmic shifts in the East Village as well as the ravages of AIDS and economic depression. This film explores the art of fun and living life out loud, despite setbacks, and Kenny Scharf’s particular DIY, high-tone, technicolor artistic vision." Spectrum Culture comments, “This colorful documentary portrait of an artist is ultimately a touching portrait of a father - and a story of growing up.”
