Explore the fascinating legacy of the Xuetas, a unique cultural group on the island of Majorca, believed to be descendants of the island’s Inquisition-era Jewish population. Though they were practicing Catholics, the Xuetas were discriminated against until the 1950’s. We meet Xuetans who want to keep their unique heritage, and those who want to become “more Jewish.” The film follows Dani Rotstein, a Jewish-American expat, social activist, and filmmaker who wants to create a community that accepts all versions of Judaism and Jews in Majorca.
