February 4, 2021, marks the 22 year anniversary of the shooting death of Amadou Diallo—the young African immigrant who was shot by police 41 times in the Bronx. Like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin and countless other police brutality cases, this shooting sparked mass protests throughout the city of New York and around the world. The question we ask is “ How much has changed since Diallo?”
“365 Days of Marching” – The Amadou Diallo Story, recounts the bitter and yet compelling story of Amadou Diallo, young African Immigrant who was shot 41 times by 4 NYC Police Officers. This film documents the series of marches and protests that was set into motion following his death. It’s a story that’s told through the eyes of the marchers (the protestors) —the people who answered the call for justice for Diallo—while exploring the history of New York City Police Department, police – community relations and how Diallo’s death galvanized a city to fight for justice—not only for Diallo, but for all injustices plaguing New Yorker's at that time.
Ticket price is $10 of which a portion of the proceeds will go to the Amadou Diallo Foundation where Kadiatou Diallo – the mother of Amadou Diallo continues to fight to keep her sons spirit alive. The Amadou Diallo Foundation offers educational support for young African students.
