Leila Mustafa, 30, civil engineer and three times valedictorian, is the young mayor of Raqqa, the former self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic State in Syria. Plunged in a man’s world, her mission is to rebuild her city in ruins after the war as well as enable reconciliation and establish democracy. An extraordinary mission.
