La Playa D.C. from Colombia (Official Selection, Cannes 2012 and 2013 Colombia Oscar submission) follows Tomas, a young afro-colombian who had to flee his village and the war and now lives in Bogota, a traditionally “white” city where he is marginalised. Through an initiatory journey in the streets of the capital, Tomas is going to risk everything to find his younger brother and conquer his independence.
