Duga or Vultures are birds that live off dead animals. This film is about modern Burkinabe society where everyone is on the make like the vultures; and Animists, Muslims, and Christians are all entrenched in their own practices. The film rejects this religious sectarianism. The film starts when Rasmané knows that his cousin Pierre has just died, and that he has to bury him in the city as soon as possible. His body cannot be buried in the village, otherwise it would be misfortune. Then Rasmané realised that human nature is rough and severe.
