The documentary revolves around three important periods in the history of the island and its inhabitants. It traces the events in Cyprus before, during and after World War II, from the EOKA period until independence, through the story of Maria Xenidis, Androulla Antoniou and Julis Neocleous. The film also highlights the black summer of 1974 when the Turkish invasion took place. These women, who are heroes in their own way, share their experiences in this documentary. It presents the hardships that these women went through during the period of colonisation in Cyprus, the period of liberating battles of EOKA in 1950-1959, until the Turkish invasion of 1974.

In the documentary there are unique stories for Eleni “Oratissa”, also known as Mother Teresa of the Greek Cypriots of Birmingham. Eleni planned her life very meticulously even until the day she died.
