July 1974. War. Fierce clashes take place in Agios Andreas, in the heart of Nicosia. Outposts are created on both the banks of the Pidkias river, facing each other. The number of casualties continue to rise. Finally, a truce is called, giving Turkish Cypriot soldier Mehmet two hours off to visit home and hold his new-born baby girl. As he enters his home, he finds his wife nervous and in despair. Their little one is lactose intolerant and the supply of milk from the pharmacy has run out. The baby is starving and struggling to stay alive. Desperate with the situation, Mehmet decides to take a huge risk. He takes an empty carton of milk and goes beyond the Greek outpost to beg for help. A Greek Cypriot soldier called Andreas decides to help him. Taking a bicycle, he rides across Nicosia, which has been plundered by the war, until he finds an open pharmacy to buy the milk. For three months, Andreas continues to take milk to Mehmet, which nurtures his daughter back to life.

Birkiul, Mehmet’s little baby girl, is now 47 years old. After decades of looking for her "milk father", to whom she feels she owes her life, Birkiul found him last year. He is Andreas Efstathiou from Geroskipou. The meeting took place during a break in quarantine during the pandemic.
