The Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CYBC), in collaboration with Tetraktys Films LTD, has completed the production of the documentary titled "Desert Dust Storms and Health Effects". The production of the documentary was carried out within the framework of the LIFE MEDEA project "Mitigating the Health Effects of Desert Dust Storms Using Exposure Reduction Approaches" which is coordinated by the Medical School of the University of Cyprus and is funded by the European Union LIFE programme. For the purposes of the documentary, the Tetraktys Films crew, under the supervision of CYBC director, Petros Kittos, accompanied MEDEA personnel in Cyprus, Greece and Israel and recorded their activities in the research field. In addition, during the documentary, journalist Konstantinos Tsindas talked with specialists in the fields of climate change, meteorology, environmental health and clinical research as well as with participants in the LIFE MEDEA project such as patients with heart arrythmias and parents of children with asthma. The documentary is expected to be aired by CYBC by the end of 2022.
