With its participation in the 5th HEI Fest, Linopetra High School attempts to bring to light a side of the 1974 tragedy that is unknown to many. Our research led us down memory lane, with a sense of gratitude for those young children whose parents, in fear of a third invasion, made the difficult decision to send them to Greece to attend the new school year.

Unaccompanied by their parents or a guardian, these refugee children travelled to different parts of Greece and other countries. Given the time constraint of our documentary, it was not possible to present all the stories, although we were deeply moved by each one of them. We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to research this topic and immense gratitude for our great Cypriot poet Kyriakos Charalambides, who wrote a poem dedicated to these unaccompanied refugee children for our documentary.
