“I went out on the balcony and saw the bombs falling. I shouted: “Papa, do something, make them leave!”, but my father couldn’t do anything. That’s why we hid in the caves.” ‘Kouroukles’ is a documentary that focuses on the experiences of three women and their restless struggle to survive during the first Turkish invasion, on 20 July 1974, when they were trapped for 12 days in their village Karmi in Kyrenia, inside the caves of Pentadaktylos Mountain.
