Mrs Demetra, the director’s grandma, is 89 years old and lives alone in Armatoliko, an idyllic village in Pindos. The ancient Achelous River flows right by her house. At that place, the Mesochora dam is being built, which is the head of the Achelous diversion project. Grandma’s house will flood by the waters of the large artificial lake that will be created. Two of her grandchildren, Dimitris and Kostas, are making this documentary, sketching the portrait of a typical woman of Pindos, as well as a tragic figure who continues to live with incredible mental strength and courage in the place she was born and loved.
