During 1946-1949, thousands of Jewish people, who survived the Holocaust, trying to get to Palestine, were enclosed by the British governors of Cyprus, in a complex of detention camps in the area of Xylotymbou, the so called “winter camp”. A pilgrimage through space and time with interviews from historians, locals, but also people who lived in the camp. The historical conditions, the reactions of the Press, the structure and the inside function of the camps, the everyday life of the enclosed Jewish, but also, their attempts to escape, all these give an outline of a relatively unknown side of the modern History of Cyprus.
