[L'HOMME QUI A VENDU SA PEAU]

Academy Award® nominee, Best International Feature Film.

Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania's provocative follow-up to 2017's BEAUTY AND THE DOGS follows a Syrian refugee, Sam Ali (Yahya Mahayni), living in Lebanon and desperate to get to Europe to reunite with his lost love. In exchange for the possibility of achieving his goal, Sam agrees to become a canvas for a world-famous tattoo artist. Soon, collectors become interested in this unusual, living work of art. In turning his own body into a prestigious and coveted piece of contemporary art, however, Sam comes to realize that his decision may actually mean anything but freedom. With perfectly balanced satire and drama, Ben Hania depicts what she's described as a "Faustian pact between the privileged and the damned." The excellent cast includes Monica Bellucci and Belgian actor Koen De Bouw. Winner, Venice Horizons Award, Best Actor (Yahya Mahayni) and Edipo Re Award, 2020 Venice Film Festival; Winner, Best Arab Film, 2020 El Gouna Film Festival; Winner, Best Screenplay, 2020 Stockholm Film Festival.
