CAMILLE (1921)

Produced by and starring Alla Nazimova as Marguerite and star-in-the-making Rudolph Valentino as her lover Armand, CAMILLE is a daring transposition of the stage adaptation of the novel "The Lady of the Camellias" ("La Dame aux Camélias") by Alexandre Dumas fils, from its original 1840s setting to 1920s Paris. Directed by Ray C. Smallwood from a screenplay by June Mathis, the film features strikingly imaginative Art Deco sets designed by Natacha Rambova, who also designed the film's costumes, and who would go on to marry Valentino in 1923. Ben Model is one of America's leading silent film accompanists. Model has been playing piano and organ for silent films at the New York MoMA since 1984 and has performed numerous shows at AFI Silver Theatre over the years.

Tickets to view are limited to one (1) per order and available exclusively to Silver Rewards participants. Advance registration may be made any time prior to the start of the event. After completing registration, ticketholders will receive an email order confirmation with a viewing link for the April 29 screening and performance. This link will become an active livestream at the listed start time for the event; an introduction will precede the start of the screening and performance.
