Women in Blue documents a police department in Minneapolis, Minnesota dealing with a history of racism. Before the world turned their eyes on the Minneapolis Police Department, filmmaker Deirdre Fishel caught the department struggling to change. Join us for a discussion about the issues behind this work in progress made even more pressing by the murder of George Floyd in May of 2020. Director, Deirdre Fishel and officer Catherine "CJ" Johnson (subject in the film), as well as local community panelists Lisa B. Thompson, Matrex Kilgore, and Michelle Alexander will talk candidly about the role of women in leadership positions, race, and policing in a post-George Floyd America.

The Community Panel will be moderated by aGLIFF President, Casandra Alston.
