Although GLAAD will tout the highest recorded percentage of LGBTQ-inclusive films ever in 2020, far too many films feature still feature straight actors in Queer roles. Even worse, the films rarely see Queer directors given the opportunity to tell their own stories. And let’s not even get started on cisgender actors putting on ‘trans-face’ to pose for their Oscar. I’m looking at you, Eddie Red-shame. Does it matter who tells our stories?
