NASA & Houston Cinema Arts Society Present: 7th Annual "CINESPACE" - NASA Imagery | Your Vision

A short film competition that offers filmmakers, editors, and animators around the world a chance to share their works, inspired by, and using, actual NASA imagery.

For a second year, the COVID-19 pandemic placed limitations on contestants’ abilities to shoot or acquire new footage, however 250 filmmakers from 44 countries participated.

Two special categories were added for 2021. Best educational film was awarded to “Future Galaxy Explorer” by Adolpho Navarro and Amy Navarro of the U.S.

The award for the film that best depicts unity and inclusion in science went to “The Future is Female” by Ella Saini in Canada. NASA’s Artemis program will land the first person of color and first woman on the Moon.
