The package includes the world premiere of the 5-minute short A Golden Voice about Haida artists, Bill Reid, followed by two half-hour documentaries about two Indigenous communities in NW BC and NW ONT and specific their relationship to the waters of their respective homelands. A Q&A with the creators of The Last Fisherman follows the films.

ALFF 2020 guest, Ryan McMahon, has had a very busy year producing the CanadaLand podcast ‘Thunder Bay’ and now a 4-part doc series for CBC Documentary: Stories From the Land. Rainy Lake near Fort Frances, Ontario is home to Anishinaabe people who have made a life around harvesting from the lake for millenia. This story illustrates the lives of the last two commercial Indigenous fishermen, now in their 70s, and their families on Rainy Lake.
