Dear BOLD Fam & Friends,

We are delighted to partner with the director and producers of American Trial: The Eric Garner Story, an important film highlighting police brutality and our collective struggle for justice within a structurally unjust system. $2 from each ticket generated through this BOLD link will be donated to National Bail Out’s Black Mama’s Bailout in recognition of their important abolitionist and decarceration work -- a core issue for us organizationally and within the BOLD community. National Bail Out is a Black-led and Black-centered collective of abolitionist organizers, lawyers and activists building a community-based movement to support our folks and end systems of pretrial detention and ultimately mass incarceration. Learn more at www.nationalbailout.org. By purchasing tickets to American Trial, you are supporting Black Mama's Bailout at a time of critical need for funding. Thank you!

American Trial: The Eric Garner Story is an unprecedented film event, an unscripted courtroom drama that presents the trial that never happened against the NYPD Officer who was filmed choking Eric Garner to death in 2014. American Trial employs real-life prosecutors and defense attorneys to conduct a totally unscripted mock trial using the real-life evidence, witnesses (including Garner’s widow, Esaw), expert testimony and rules of criminal procedure (the only actor in the film is the man who plays the defendant, Officer Daniel Pantaleo). Best of all, the filmmakers do not tell the audience whether Officer Pantaleo should be found guilty or not — the viewers themselves are the jury.
