Three talented Cuban athletes, who see baseball as the path to a better life in America, leave their families and risk exile to train in Costa Rica. They try to land a lucrative contract with Major League Baseball while dealing with the ulterior motives of seedy sports agents, the whims of MLB scouts, and the multi-step immigration process, including a perilous journey through Central America to finally reach the United States. This nail-biting and eye-opening documentary is a powerful true story about the physical and psychological challenges immigrants face in pursuing the American dream.
