This program has been geolocated to the state of Maryland, Washington DC, and the "DC-Metro" area, and includes only these Virginia cities: Alexandria, Arlington, Crystal City, Falls Church, Fairfax, and McClean. If you are outside of any of these areas, you will be unable to view this program.

It’s one thing to take on an unspeakably tragic disease – at age 32, husband and father Ady Barkan is diagnosed with ALS and given 3-4 years to live – it’s quite another to take on a political system and launch a universal health care movement.  A born activist, Barkan transcends bodily limits and hits the road on a Be a Hero campaign, bird-dogging politicians to sway their votes in favor of healthcare reform.  This exhilarating film celebrates the relentless and fierce practice of democracy and the power of personal storytelling as a tool for change. It also won the Audience Award at this year’s SXSW Film Festival!
