Length: 90 Minutes • Location: Virtual

Instructor: Sean Mannion

This workshop will provide students with guidance on getting started with the free open-source 3D application Blender. Easily accessible and incredibly powerful Blender has been used for years by professionals in the worlds of 3D design, animation, and film visual effects. It presents a great starting point for anyone interested in exploring those skills. This workshop will focus on covering the fundamentals any student will need to get started as well as provide students with a list of reliable resources to continue exploring their interest in 3D.

Outcome: At the conclusion of the workshop students will be challenged to create their own 3D scene leveraging the skills covered in the workshop. Students will have two months to create their scene and submit it to the instructors. All students who submit their work in that timeframe will receive feedback from the instructor. Select students will have their scene highlighted at the next Art of Brooklyn Film Festival.
