A Slice of New York City presented by Asian CineVision

New York City has always been a place of experimentation, movement, and change, and Asian CineVision is proud to be a part of that tradition. The four films we've chosen show just a small example of the creativity and diversity of our home. Asian CineVision is proud to continue supporting independent storytelling in the Asian diaspora. For more info about us and our Asian American International Film Festival, which runs Aug 11-22, 2021, check out asiancinevision.org.

24-HOUR WORKDAY exposes the sweatshop conditions of long hours and wage theft. In New York State, many home attendants — mostly immigrants and women — are forced to work 24-hour shifts taking care of seriously ill patients, with only half the pay. These workers come together to mount a challenge against this state-sponsored sweatshop.
