A Slice of New York City presented by Asian CineVision

New York City has always been a place of experimentation, movement, and change, and Asian CineVision is proud to be a part of that tradition. The four films we've chosen show just a small example of the creativity and diversity of our home. Asian CineVision is proud to continue supporting independent storytelling in the Asian diaspora. 24-HOUR WORKDAY exposes the sweatshop conditions of long hours and wage theft. In New York State, many home attendants — mostly immigrants and women — are forced to work 24-hour shifts taking care of seriously ill patients, with only half the pay. These workers come together to mount a challenge against this state-sponsored sweatshop.
