Next Exit, Cambodia Town presented by Cambodia Town Film Festival

A vibrant and active community, Long Beach’s Cambodia Town has become the center for Khmer culture, and more than 30,000 visitors attend the Cambodian New Year celebration each year. Understanding that Cambodia Town is a Khmer hub for culture and commerce, Cambodia Town Film Festival presents these films which involve stories about family, migration, justice, and the human condition. These projects speak to the power of film to reach and inspire multiple audiences.

Cambodia Town Film Festival highlights the diversity of the Cambodian experience through the art of filmmaking. By specifically featuring films that deal with Cambodian social political conflicts, traditions, challenges, and characters, the Festival deepens Cambodian values, encourages new dialogue on a global scale, and powerfully speaks to the endurance and resurgence of Cambodian culture. Our REMEMBRANCE AND RENEWAL interview series honors the Cambodian New Year and the Cambodian Genocide Remembrance Day by sharing and celebrating the inspirational stories of those who inherited the traumas of war and how they continue to hope, dream, build, and thrive as Cambodian Americans.
