A kaleidoscopic portrait of the United States at work emerges with threats from automation, the gig economy and the decline of unions. Inspired by the work of the great Studs Terkel.

Introduction from Ross

I love this documentary and wanted to share it with you. I’m always curious to explore the meaning that people find in their working lives and how that sense of purpose is influenced by developments in the world and our environment. This beautiful documentary by Mark Street, filmed just months before the pandemic, explores the human experience of work in a gentle and illuminating way. I’d hazard a guess that many of us will have experienced some form of turbulence in our working lives over the course of the pandemic and perhaps even reflected on the meaning we find in our jobs. I don’t think we talk about the meaning in our working lives enough, which is why People Soup is proud to sponsor 75 free tickets for you to view this beautiful documentary.
