A Hair Raising Experience explores the life of a remarkable pioneer woman, Rebecca Walter Stotler.
Rebecca Walter was captured and scalped when she was a child.
She lived in Somerset County PA until her death in 1826.
Rebecca is probably the only lady buried in Somerset County that was scalped and lived to tell about it.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Richard Sturtz, a lifelong resident and local historian from Somerset County, Pennsylvania, has authored books covering Somerset County’s fallen Vietnam soldiers to local stories passed down from generational farmers and residents. Richard filmography includes participation in numerous Civil War reenactment films. His directing/screenplay/hosting debut was in the fall of 2022 with Tales of the Alleghenies,Episode 1, Unexpected Visitors.
