SYNOPSIS

Hunt for the First Americans at the Barton Site explores the search for deeply buried artifacts within Maryland’s Upper Potomac River Valley, offering new clues into the lives of the region’s first inhabitants.

Through deep excavation, geo-archaeology, and careful analysis of buried artifacts, the film presents the methods and challenges of uncovering archaeological deposits dating to the end of the last Ice Age.

Produced in collaboration with Maryland Historical Trust, The Archaeological Conservancy, and the Archaeological Society of Maryland.
