Marble sculptors use the pontadoros as a pointing device to achieve the accurate reproduction of ancient stone forms. Since the 1960s, this instrument has been their invaluable ally in restoring ancient monuments. Today, the new marble infills create a harmonious link between the past and the present. 

The film highlights the remarkable precision achieved through the pontadoros technique, but it also focuses on the enduring values of traditional craftsmanship — a mind-and-hand practice passed down through generations.
