In a quiet suburb, Pedro, a 15-year-old Latin-American boy gathers a local gang to plan for a burglary of a lifeless house. The gang is led by Ethan, who sees Pedro's familiarity with the house as suspicious due to Pedro's father being a police officer. Pedro, attempting to prove his loyalty to the group, tries to steal from the house alone but only finds minor items and an old key. Inside, he encounters Theodore, a 75-year-old man in a wheelchair, who mistakes Pedro for a delivery person. Pedro then takes this disguise as an opportunity to steal more things in the house but eventually finds nothing and traps himself in the conversation with Theodore. As their conversation unfolds, the house becomes a stage for an unexpected exchange between Pedro and Theodore. Each object Pedro discovers triggers stories and reflections from Theodore, weaving a tapestry of life lessons about dreams, reality, identity, freedom, and the weight of choices. The quiet introspection is shattered when Ethan and his gang, skeptical of Pedro’s prolonged absence, confront them. In a tense standoff, Pedro, influenced by his newfound understanding, makes a pivotal choice that alters the course of the night. A violent altercation ensues, culminating in Pedro’s desperate act of self-defense using the key. The story concludes with Pedro, now changed by the night’s events, escaping into the unknown. Silent night, we hear wind…
