Striving to stay sober, recovering addicts Josh and Cassidy write their traumatic life events into a short film screenplay. The project is jeopardized when Cassidy relapses and is kicked out of the faith-based drug recovery center where the two men have lived for years. The aspiring filmmakers struggle to restore faith in each other, their families, and themselves, all while making a movie about their turbulent road of recovery.


MEET THE FILMMAKER: JARED CALLAHAN

Rev. Jared Callahan is a national Emmy-nominated filmmaker whose work has been released through PBS, The New York Times, GQ, The Atlantic, Sundance, Tribeca, and 250+ film festivals worldwide. His NYT Op-Doc Saltwater Baptism was beat by Lady Gaga for a 2018 Webby Award. He lives and works on a farm near Oakland, CA.

In 2016, Jared released his directorial debut feature documentary, Janey Makes a Play. He served as one of the Atlanta Film Society’s Filmmakers in Residence, and produced The Driver is Red, which has played over 100 festivals and won 43 awards, qualifying for the 2019 Academy Award in two categories. He recently produced the short experimental documentary Mr. Somebody which was accepted to Tribeca 2020.
