But just like her images, Michelle stayed focused. She went to USC Cinema and landed jobs at National Geographic, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Showtime. In 2005, Michelle founded Wahoo Films to help organizations better connect with their audience. Her genuine passion for her customers is evident in the videos she produces for them.

LIFEBLOOD We live in a divided country. But solving the biggest environmental problems we face today will require overcoming divisions that have bred decades of bitterness. Lifeblood explores how four groups of people historically at odds with one another — fishermen, indigenous tribes, farmers and scientists — are moving beyond mistrust to save salmon and their ailing ecosystem in the Pacific Northwest. Director's Bio:<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/d0cfaabb3c3abc543e786e7623ac6ce6.jpg" width="225" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 1em 1em;">Jennifer Moslemi and Marita Davison are biologists, filmmakers and interactive designers. They focus on topics related to science and sustainability, using digital media to help us understand the natural world and our place in it. They have won awards for both film production and web design, recently winning the New Visions award at the International Wildlife Film Festival and a Webby Award for Best Science Website. After meeting in grad school at Cornell University, Jen and Marita co-founded Caravan Lab, where they produce a range of media types for universities, non-profits, government agencies and broadcast networks. They are based in Seattle, where Jen loves to hike in the rain and Marita is always looking for an excuse to go salsa dancing.&nbsp;

FARMING SLOWLY A passionate farmer builds a lifestyle and community around the philosophy of taking time to grow organic foods. Director's Bio:<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/d00960d290e9ece476e2566c826c4724.jpg" width="150" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 1em 1em;">As a teenager, Anthony Newen learned how to shoot and edit while making videos on YouTube. At age 18, Anthony moved to Los Angeles and began to work on film sets as a background actor, camera operator, and sound mixer. This experience gave Anthony his “film school” despite not having a formal film education at a university. He has participated in commercial contests that have won him prizes awarded by Loctite and McDonalds. His films have screened at many film festivals that include Austin Asian American Film Festival and Dances With Films Film Festival.

THE FUTURE IS ROTTEN A secret culture of foragers spend their lives hunting the Matsutake. Coveted in Japan for its flavor and symbolism, the treasured mushroom can bring up to $1000 kg but its true value lies underground. A genius networker and healer of ruined landscapes, the Matsutake might just be our last, best hope for an American forest system run amok. The rare fungi appears in troubled and depleted forests, collaborating with trees to help each other grow through a mutual collaboration. Voices urging the U.S. Forest Service to change its fire fighting and logging laws are growing as we ask ourselves how to collaborate and share the greater value found right under our feet. Director's Bio:<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/7fb8bb15b2f238684a80bb7c8379b1af.jpg" width="150" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 1em 1em;">Nancy Dionne is an award winning documentary filmmaker and photojournalist. She likes taking people “to a threshold” by producing stories that create connections not yet considered that honor nature, music and the human spirit. She works as an AP in New York City, on special projects for the IDA, Los Angeles and is a member of the "CREATOR Program" for Yahoo!JAPAN. Her third film about music is in production called CONDUCTION.

VOICES ON THE ROAD Deep in the remote Peruvian Amazon a road is quietly destroying a protected rainforest, causing conflict and fear. But for some indigenous communities, desperate for change, it is also bringing hope. The road is cutting through a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Manu Biosphere Reserve, and opening it up to the outside world. Many indigenous communities are struggling to live in this 'paradise' and the road brings the promise of a better life. But at what cost? Directors' Bio:<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/2f96b6c3459314cba7acd60266280c22.jpg" width="250" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 1em 1em;">A conservation filmmaker, Eilidh Munro has been working in the Amazon for the last few years, capturing rare animal behavior and species new to science. In 2018, she became an Explorer with the Scientific Exploration Society and received the Neville Shulman Explorer Award for Expedition Filmmaking. A freelance multimedia journalist, Bethan John specializes in biodiversity conservation and social justice. She's passionate about leading adventurous expeditions to unearth stories on the complex social, economic and environmental issues facing marginalized communities living in some of the most biodiverse places on Earth.
