Filmmaker Bio: Madeleine Rotzler is a writer/director based in New York City. Madeleine's career began in post-production editing documentaries, commercials, television shows, and films such as Fernando Nation for ESPN's award winning 30 for 30 series. She went on to develop and direct acclaimed documentaries, including her first film, Academy Award® short-listed The Lottery, Emmy® Award winning Dangerous Acts Starring the Unstable Elements of Belarus, (HBO), and Emmy® Award nominated It’s a Hard Truth Ain’t It (HBO), which was co-directed by thirteen men incarcerated in a maximum-security prison. Madeleine's debut narrative feature, O.G. (HBO) stars Jeffrey Wright and Theothus Carter, an incarcerated actor in the prison in which the film was made. O Horizon is Madeleine’s second narrative film.
