Director's Bio: Cynthia Lowen is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker and award-winning writer. She is a Sundance Screenwriting Fellow and the director of BATTLEGROUND (2022) and NETIZENS (2018), and she is the producer of BULLY (2012). Her films have appeared on HBO, MTV, Netflix, PBS, Starz and in theaters worldwide, as well as been shortlisted for the Oscars and nominated for two Emmys. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America.
Jon Cohrs served as senior producer for the R&D team at The New York Times exploring the future of journalism through research and emergent storytelling techniques, including photogrammetry, Unreal Engine, AI, spatial audio and other applications. He’s the director of the feature documentary ‘Backwater’ about the anthropocene, following a group who travel by canoe, exploring a post-industrial landscape that tells a story of nature and toxicity, premiering at Visions Du Reel.
