Cinema is ripe with archival reclamations. Such acts of retrieval challenge the silences and violences of archives that narrativize history through the lens of the oppressor. These thinkers and image makers will discuss using historic reference points and source materials as modes of retrieving and representing joyous, riotous, and contested histories across varied geographies and collections.
