Yakup and Şemsa are grandfather and grandmother to a multi-generational Assyrian family who immigrated from Mardin to Berlin 25 years ago. A phone call about their son Michael, whom they lost twenty-five years ago, reawakens painful memories from their past. Yakup, Şemsa, and their granddaughter Nardin decide to return to southeastern Turkey, commencing a personal journey for the family.
