This documentary takes us to Atlanta Georgia in the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s where the music of talented artists shaped the three decades of music. From the desk of music executive Ian Burke, the film goes behind the scenes and the stories of Mr. Burke, outlining the history of urban music and it’s impact. The series covers the early beginnings of southern urban music styles and influences, from the east as well as the south. Music and entertainment from the south influenced many other music genres and Artists across the country. From the early days of So So Def and LaFace Records to the hip hop styles of Goodie Mobb , TLC, Xscape and Outkast. Each episode outlines details of how the music and culture was birthed over the past 30 years. Interviews and footage with celebrity artists, music producers, executives, songwriters and influencers shape the stories and the history behind some of the biggest names in music. Atlanta continues to be a hub of music and film and this is the story of the “Song of the South”.
