THE HAMLET SYNDROME follows a group of young Ukrainian actors struggling with traumas from sexism and homophobia, to the war in the Donbas. In order to process their emotions they embark on an adaptation of Hamlet that grapples with the contemporary challenges of Ukraine. Filmed only a few months prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, THE HAMLET SYNDROME is a rare personal document of the transformative power of art.
