After losing the love of his life to a rare illness, and after two decades of caregiving for her, the filmmaker's grandfather explores senior dating, finding momentary companionship but never true fulfillment. A serendipitous encounter with a kindred spirit, who is also grappling with loss, rekindles his lust for life. An intimate portrait of resilience and elderly romance.
Racing The Dream
Twelve dogs, one musher. Charmayne Morrison is a 23-year-old musher and is completing her first 300-mile attempt at Race to the Sky in Lincoln, Montana. Her training will push her and the team closer to the finish line as they go up against drowsiness, illness, and freezing temperatures. Crossing the finish line would place her closer to her dream by qualifying for the 1000-mile Iditarod, also known as “The Last Great Race,” where she and her canine companions would face the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness.
Terra Draconis
Since its inception as a commercial interest in the 19th century, a growing debate has formed around the collection, research, and sale of significant vertebrate fossils specimens on the world stage. TERRA DRACONIS documents the long-standing divide between academic, commercial, private, and legal interests involved in the ownership of dinosaur fossils and explores the many opinions regarding collection of vertebrate fossils in the modern age – for posterity or prosperity.

A collection of short films made by graduate students from the MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking program which is part of the School of Film and Photography at Montana State University. The MFA film program guides students from a variety of backgrounds, from film to environmental science to physics, as they learn the history and theory of documentary film while also mastering the range of production skills needed to become innovative filmmakers. Their work shows a wide range of interests from wildlife film, conservation film, historical documentary and personal filmmaking. This collection features short documentary projects that were produced in the students’ first and second year.
