A black experience documentary that follows the Kusasa Stars, a youth soccer team that journeys from their home in Groendal, South Africa to compete in finals of the Gothia Cup – the world’s largest international soccer tournament for youths, held each year in Sweden. The boys carry their country’s flag with pride and seek to bring positive change to their home, while the turmoil that wracks their local community impacts the members of the team in different ways.

A Festival Pass includes access to all films and filmmaker Q&As, whereas a Full Festival Pass also includes admission to all workshops. All the film programs and workshops are organized by program type (feature length films vs. shorts programs), recommended age range, and subtitled versus English/wordless films. Please note that all sales of tickets and passes are final and that we do not offer refunds once purchases.

You can sign up for as many workshops as you'd like (you only need to sign up for Day 1 of the Junior Film Critics Workshop; you will automatically be signed up for Day 2). You must purchase a film screening to participate in the live Q&As with the directors, but if you can't make them in real time, they will be available for on-demand viewing until Sunday, January 24, at 7:00 PM.
