INTRODUCING CIFF LOVE LETTERS: Valentines day has come early! We’ve thought a lot this year about how we can build connections between audience members and filmmakers within a virtual space. One of the hardest things about this year for filmmakers, is that they have not been able to forge spontaneous connections with audiences and hear from them directly. If you’ve seen a film you have loved, click HERE to write a love letter to a filmmaker!

Gunda will screen virtually on October 2 at 8pm ET in a four-hour window. This film will be only available to viewers in the United States.

Experiential cinema in its purest form, GUNDA chronicles the unfiltered lives of a mother pig, a flock of chickens, and a herd of cows with masterful intimacy. Using stark, transcendent black and white cinematography and the farm's ambient soundtrack, Master director Victor Kossakovsky invites the audience to slow down and experience life as his subjects do, taking in their world with a magical patience and an other worldly perspective. GUNDA asks us to meditate on the mystery of animal consciousness, and reckon with the role humanity plays in it. Executive produced by Joaquin Phoenix.
