Mainers pride themselves on their independence, and the rugged landscapes where they forge their lives and identities. This year’s Dirigo Docs program honors the sovereignty of the Wabanaki people and their longstanding stewardship of the place we now call Maine, while exploring the freedom and healing made possible through deeper relationships with this land and its people.

After the death of his mother, Morgan Talty, an author and citizen of the Penobscot Indian Nation returns home to a house that may or may not be haunted. Conjuring the spirits of the past, Morgan searches for answers about where his mom might have gone in the things she left behind.
