Julia Rose Manning is an obituary writer, the only obituary writer, at the Gazette, and, as usual, is preoccupied by the recently deceased and what they'd like shared for the final statement. But the lonely introvert can't seem to connect with anyone around her, and the hope within her is slipping away as fast the days until she can't even claim to be a paid writer any longer.
