CENTRAL UNIT is a comedic satire that explores the lust for wealth in a crumbling post-capitalist world, no matter the cost. The film follows Lily and Brooks—two formerly affluent siblings now living in a cult-like Los Angeles community after global warming has shaped the city into a virtually unlivable place. Oh, and this poorly run cult… they worship an air conditioning unit. If Lily and Brooks want proximity to the central unit, one of them will have to marry to achieve the class standing they once considered their birthright. Yet not everyone can withstand the compounding pressures of the cult’s terms, the man Lily plans to wed least of all: an outsider who sees through the freon haze.
