The short film MATAGI MĀLOHI : STRONG WINDS will play before the feature.

Nebraska has resettled more refugees per capita than any other state in the nation.

In 2016, during the world’s largest refugee crisis since WWII, President Obama invited 110,000 refugees into the United States. That year, conservative, red state, Nebraska resettled more refugees per capita than any state.

Now it’s 2020: the refugee crisis is bigger than ever and Trump’s refugee ceiling is 18,000. In a time of emboldened bigotry, with America’s Refugee Resettlement Program hanging by a thread, A HOME CALLED NEBRASKA spotlights families escaping war, persecution, and years of vetting being welcomed by big-hearted Nebraskans. Now these refugees from all over the world are succeeding and giving back to the Nebraska communities that welcomed them.

This film has been generously sponsored by Anne Eliot MacFarlane and Tom MacFarlane; by Native Nebraskan, Shelle Carrig; and by Leah and Wynn Williams.
