THE DUCK QUEEN OF PLAQUEMINES PARISH Albertine Kimble, lifelong duck hunter and lover of the bayou, takes us on a tour of her backyard, which is quickly disappearing thanks to rapid wetland loss due to man-made errors and climate change. Through Albertine we get to know one of the biggest environmental issues plaguing our nation.

THE SECRET LIFE OF MUSLIMS: RICHARD "MAC" MCKINNEY This ex-marine Marine planned to detonate an explosive at a Mosque, but after he was given a Koran everything changed. Director BioJoshua Seftel is best known for directing the original Emmy-winning show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and the political satire "War, Inc." starring John Cusack, Marisa Tomei and Ben Kingsley. He is a contributor/commentator to CBS Sunday Morning, This American Life, and The New York Times. Smartypants Pictures, his Brooklyn-based production company, specializes in creating intelligent content from commercials to movies to documentaries.

THE SECRET LIFE OF MUSLIMS: RICHARD "MAC" MCKINNEY

Everything changes after an ex-Marine is given a Koran.

PANT HOOT As the world’s chimpanzee population dwindles in the wild, one&nbsp;man risks everything to care for a group of mistreated animals rescued by Jane Goodall’s Chimp Eden Sanctuary in South Africa. Stany Nyandwi, a survivor of the Burundi genocide, overcomes insurmountable odds to become one of the only humans to master the complicated ‘pant hoot’ chimp language.&nbsp; Recognizing that it’s not just a chimpanzee vs. human struggle, he’s taken it upon himself to reconnect with our closest relatives on this planet. Love knows no man-made boundaries in this universal story about understanding. Director BioRichard Reens is an award-winning commercial director/dp and photographer whose innovative style and intimate approach lends the most beneficial, paramount experience to both clients and actors. His debut documentary short film, Pant Hoot, focuses on Stany Nyandwi, an inspiring man who survived the Burundi genocide and overcame insurmountable odds to become a master chimp linguist. Richard’s commercial directing experience includes jaw-dropping campaigns for Mercedes Benz, Hummer, Sony, and 7UP. His instinctual ability to appeal to a target audience is evident in his highly regarded season spots for Fox Television series “The OC” and his reputation also has an international reach. His campaigns in Eastern Europe have impacted the advertising culture so strongly that they are now the focus of lectures in advertising conferences and have had significant impact on the advertising landscape in some areas. At an early age, Richard chose to follow in the footsteps of his father who was a highly acclaimed photographer. At the age of 10, Richard was already shooting and developing his own pictures. Richard’s excellence in still photography captured the attention of Neiman Marcus and Estée Lauder, which launched his career at age 18. Through experimentation with unconventional photographic techniques, and adopting unusual visual and conceptual approaches to his subjects, he quickly moved from tabletop to fine art to fashion photography. Instinct to seek out fresh new faces, led Richard to discover and photograph models who became household names, including Supermodels Brigitte Hall and Chandra North, Angie Harmon, and Shannon Elizabeth. Richard’s photographs have been featured in international publications including Allure, Amica, Glamour and Marie Claire. A consummate professional whose work is recognized worldwide and has received numerous awards and accolades, Richard was named one of the top 15 photographers in the world by Archive Magazine in 2001. His television commercials and still photographs have won hundreds of advertising awards including, Clio’s, CA Advertising, Design, and Photography Annuals, New York Art Directors Club, and more than a half-dozen coveted pencils in The One Show. Richard is a native New Yorker, and a graduate of New York School of Art and Design. In addition to his continued pursuit of his lifelong passion for training, and riding horses, Richard is an underwater cinematographer and enjoys skiing, scuba diving, and skydiving. Richard lives in Dallas, TX is an FAA licensed remote pilot (drones), and a seasoned world traveler.

A genocide survivor beats overwhelming odds to become a master chimpanzee linguist.

In 2007, on a fateful day in the remote Wisconsin woods, an independent logger named Gary Edinger severed his left leg while felling a tree. Twenty miles from help, and in temperatures forty degrees below zero, Gary summoned remarkable willpower and crawled to his truck, then drove to safety. Gary’s struggle for survival, however, didn’t begin on that frigid day in the hardwoods. His whole life has been forged from adversity. WILL TO LIVE: THE GARY EDINGER STORY provides a glimpse of a unique perspective gained by cheating death and chasing the call of lifelong adventure as only Gary can. Director BioAdam Foss grew up in the foothills of the Alberta Rockies where from age 14, he became deeply rooted in mountain bowhunting. His passion for wild places has led him to develop a career as a professional photographer and filmmaker. The focus of Adam’s work over the years has been to redefine the way we tell stories around hunting and to push the boundaries of the typical hunting narrative into uncharted territory. He works with his wife Frankie Foss making films from their Kelowna-based company, Foss Media.

OUT OF THE BLUE A 78-year-old man covered his body with one beautiful tattoo. This retired principal city planner for the City of Baltimore talks about trees, consciousness, letting go of life, and his genitals. Director Biofriendzone is comprised of Sundance Grand Jury Winning Director Steven Hoover, and nine time Vimeo Staff Pick and Cannes Lion winner, Director / DP Jonathan Bregel. The genesis of friendzone was a deep mutual respect for one another’s work. From there, they carefully built upon Jonathan’s visual strengths with Steven’s ability to build a strong narrative and work with talent. This collaborative system has leveraged the abilities of both Directors, as well as giving them the ability to work ahead of schedule and be in constant communication with their agency and client partners. Steven and Jonathan initially paired together at production company Variable to create memorable advertising campaigns for scores of brands along with their prolific documentary film careers. Steven’s obsessive curiosity has resulted in achieving some of film's highest honors. His first feature, "Blood Brother", premiered at Sundance in 2013 and went on to win the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for best US feature-length documentary.&nbsp;His second, "Almost Holy", was Executive Produced by Terrence Malick, scored by Atticus Ross, and premiered at Tribeca in 2015, garnering numerous awards around the world before going on to a worldwide theatrical run. Steve's commercial clients include Gap, Walmart, Chipotle and National Geographic among others. Jonathan is a multidisciplinary filmmaker and DP, rooted in his belief that the language of film should communicate directly to the emotional truth of the viewer.&nbsp;Jonathan has Directed and shot commercials and branded content for clients such-as; Nike, National Geographic, Cadillac, ACLU, Samsung, Pfizer, Gap, Tiffany &amp; Co., and many more.&nbsp;Jonathan's work has been featured in Adweek, Huffington Post and Gizmodo and awarded at Cannes Lion, AICP, Adweek ARC Awards, LIA, Clio, Webby, Shorty, One Show, Creativity, PDN and Spikes Asia. His films have earned seven Vimeo Staff Picks that have racked up over 10 million views."

AT NIGHT, I DREAM Entirely shot in the elevator of an assisted living facility, AT NIGHT, I DREAM, highlights the tender encounters with our fellow human beings. A tale about age, love, loss, mourning, and the power of human connection. The film touches upon the daily life of the residents, their relationship with the care staff, their relationship to life and finally our own relationship to age and the elderly, who are so often excluded and sidelined from our lives. The elevator operates as a bubble of intimacy, a magical, poetic and surprising zone of compassion. “This film, which I wanted to be very simple, is knitted together by beautiful people, looks, silences, confidences, anecdotes, gestures of tenderness, bursts of laughter, deep despair, offerings, nostalgia, and furious joie de vivre. It is as multifaceted as life itself.” - Frédérique Buck. In French with English subtitles. Director BioFrédérique Buck is a trained journalist and works as a content designer and filmmaker, both fiction and documentary. Her work evolves around political and social themes.

THE STARR SISTERS Patte and Randa Starr are fun experts. They live near the beach, always have a movie playing and keep the candy drawer fully stocked. After overcoming a dark past, these sisters are committed to living out the childhood they never had. Director BioBridey Elliott is an actress, writer and director. After graduating from the National Theater Institute at Eugene O'Neill Center, she became a regular at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Bridey starred in the 2014 SXSW Grand Jury Prize winner Fort Tilden. Her directorial debut, the short comedy “Affections”, premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, and part of the 2016 Sundance Shorts Tour. Bridey was in Battle of The Sexes starring Emma Stone, as well as Steven Soderbergh’s “Mosaic” series for HBO. Her directorial feature debut, Clara's Ghost, premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Orion Pictures in December of 2018. Beth Einhorn is a director, writer, and producer. Beth’s credits include The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Chris Rock Show, Saturday Night Live, and Wanda Sykes presents and many music specials including Bruce Springsteen, Prince, and Paul McCartney.
