After the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, a young girl who witnessed the unimaginable horror and lost her family was told that nothing would grow there for 75 years. But a year later, she and other survivors found green buds growing from blackened, dead trees. Hope survived. As a peacemaker and advocate for a nuclear-free world, Hideko Tamura Snider has dedicated herself to these ideals, including her involvement in a global initiative of taking seeds from the surviving trees of the bombing and growing peace trees.
