Written and directed by Jim Capobianco, the Academy Award nominated writer of Pixar hit Ratatouille, The Inventor is a new stop-motion adventure film about the life of Leonardo da Vinci.

Starting the production stage in February 2022, The Inventor is a stylized, stop-motion puppet and 2D hand-drawn animated film about Leonardo Da Vinci. This exhilarating adventure will be voiced by Stephen Fry (Leonardo), Daisy Ridley (Marguerite), Marion Cotillard (Louise de Savoy), Matt Barry (Pope X) and Gauthier Battoue (King Francis).

In this special presentation, CFFS audiences are getting a sneak peek at the film’s production. Watch the short film that started it all, a teaser of the feature, and a behind the scenes tour with a message from the director!

To accommodate evolving public health recommendations regarding COVID-19, we are adopting a hybrid virtual-and-in-person festival model for CFFS 2022. VIRTUAL, IN-PERSON, and HYBRID (virtual AND in-person) Festival Passes are available here.

⚠️ For the sake of public safety, NWFF patrons ages 5+ will be required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination and to double-mask while in the building. Disposable masks are available at the door for those who need them. ⚠️

NWFF is adapting to evolving recommendations to protect the public from COVID-19. Read more about their policies regarding cleaning, masks, and capacity limitations here. We reserve the option to shift the festival to virtual-only on short notice.
