As a child, Daniel Balima, senior horticulturist, fell ill with polio and grew up without the use of his legs. He followed his father in the family nursery, walking on his hands. Daniel saw an opportunity: "I could take two paths — begging or taking my life in hand and devoting myself to work with dignity.” So, every day he went to the garden to work despite the various difficulties he faces.  


In over fifty years, he has given life to more than a million trees and dreams of planting another million due to drought in his country
